We are looking for a dynamic
Vice President, Business Development to join our team! CATHEXIS is rapidly growing and providing unparalleled client solutions. Come and be part of something great! The VP, Business Development will drive business development throughout the Federal sales lifecycle, engaging key stakeholders from technical and Growth teams. Establish and maintain client relationships while identifying, shaping, and winning opportunities within an assigned portfolio of capabilities and clients. This will include identifying required pursuit resources, engaging the client, overseeing bid strategies, pricing, teaming, and managing the transition from business opportunity identification to award. Work with the team to manage and maintain the company pipeline. Support marketing, intellectual capital development, operations, events, and logistics.
Client focus will be primarily on the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DOD), especially Office of the Undersecretary of Defense (OUSD).
This position will be largely remote, while visits to clients and company locations will be periodically required.Responsibilities:- Meet established goals by generating business opportunities, cultivating those opportunities and client relationships
- Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of client needs and convert those needs into opportunities and wins
- Help build the pipeline by identifying and qualify opportunities throughout the Federal market
- Prepare and present client-centric strategic plans and Gate Reviews, and work with Capture Managers on Capture Reviews and other capture-related briefings and meetings
- Maintain opportunity information within company CRM database
- Shape solicitations prior to release through client engagement and development of compelling solutions
- Develop and leverage client relationships to maintain client intimacy, identify hot buttons, and ensure integration into the solution, win themes, and proposal
- Develop teaming strategies and identify, evaluate, and coordinate with appropriate partners to form winning teams
- Monitor competitor activity and conduct competitive assessments for specific opportunities
- Lead effective and efficient strategy, solutioning, and win theme development sessions and ensure integration with Capture Managers
- Demonstrate and apply understanding of pricing strategies and levers to contribute to competitive and compelling client solutions
- Demonstrate the ability to understand and articulate solutions for specific opportunities to clients and CATHEXIS leadership
- Relationship development will include travel outside of the office, including but not limited to on-site visits with partners and clients for the purpose of business development, relationship management, due diligence trips, as well as representing CATHEXIS at industry events for the purpose of business development.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of experience successfully leading business development for Federal opportunities within VA and/or DOD (especially OUSD)
Required Skills:- Existing Federal client relationships within VA and/or DOD (especially OUSD)
- Existing industry relationships within the enterprise optimization, learning development, forensic audit, and/or data analytics capability areas
- Knowledge of and experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
- Knowledge of and experience with Federal acquisition data and sources such as Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS) and government contracting tool such as GovWin
- Experience maintaining opportunity information in a CRM tool
- Experience contributing to proposal sections (e.g., Executive Summaries)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams)
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including empathy, and reflective listening, as well as strong writing skillset
- Demonstrated ability to engage with clients' key decision-makers, build rapport, and influence
- Ability to effectively work remotely, as well as to travel to client sites (25% travel)
