Business Development - Permian Desired Traits: Returns Driven, Austere, Customer FocusedDowning, a leading provider of US-manufactured wellheads, frac completion systems, and production trees, is seeking a Business Development person for its Midland sales team, focused on its automated completion system, Freedom Series. This position will be based in Midland, TX and will report to the VP, Business Development.
What is Business Development?As part of a basin-focused sales team, the Business Development role is responsible for the sale of automated completion rental equipment, specifically Downing's Freedom Series product line, to new and existing customers within their assigned territory.
In this role, you will: - Perform professional presentations and demonstrations of company products
- Penetrate targeted accounts through visting operator office and field locations
- Overcome objections of prospective customers
- Emphasize product and service value to customer, quote prices, and discuss credit terms, and prepare sales reports
- Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth
- Generate and develop new customer accounts to increase revenue by cold-calling, if necessary
- Actively manage call schedule to adequately cover assigned territory and customers in a time-efficient manner
- Use marketing data to maximize sales efficiency and effectiveness
- Maintain accurate records, including but not limited to, weekly expense reports, sales reports, CRM data, etc.
- Assist in creating RFP responses to potential clients
- Build and maintain ongoing awareness of new products and services by monitoring competition through the gathering of current marketplace information on pricing, products, competitor activities, and additional research
Required and Preferred Abilities:- Travel to operator field locations (required)
- Knowledge of wellhead equipment and completion operations preferred
- Requires working and entertaining unconventional hours
- Network of contacts within Permian Basin and associated contacts with Houston-based operators
- Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining established sales quotas
- Professional demeanor, selling style, and appearance
- Experience in opportunity qualification, pre-visit planning, call control, account development, and time and territory management
- Build and maintain lasting relationships with customers
- Exceptional verbal communication, presentation and listening skills
- Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
- High level of integrity and work ethic
- Must be organized and possess good time management skills
Education and Experience:- Bachelor's degree in business/marketing or related field preferred; or equivalent of three years' experience in progressively responsible sales position
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
