As a Sales Administration Specialist I, you will be providing best in class service for pre-sales and post-sales support for the surgical sales teams. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining new quotes and contracts and providing resolution for issues negatively impacting customers. You will work with many cross functional teams to improve customer satisfaction, team productivity, and support key business initiatives that will enable achievement of sales and production goals at Houston, TX.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Create, receive, and manage departmental quote requests, contract requests, and service requests from the surgical sales teams, Marketing, and operations.
- Analyze information regarding historical data, trends, and other activities by providing insights and recommendations to improve processes, team productivity, or challenges to the business.
- Update bills of materials to replace or remove discontinued components.
- Train and develop new sales reps to understand business processes, sales quoting software, and production processes.
- Provide support for system enhancements.
- Manage daily/weekly deviations.
- Answer 800 phone line, texts, and e-mails using a cloud-based contact center platform that helps improve service requests.
- Troubleshoot material, production, or shipping delays.
- Provide assistance to sales reps for gaining critical account business with high volume customers by responding to questions and concerns.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- Work hours: 1st shift: Monday – Friday: 8 AM CST – 5 PM CST
- Travel Requirements: 5 to 10%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Ophthalmology Surgical Technologist and/or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant.
- Experience in Ophthalmology, Inside Sales, Customer Service, or the Medical Device industry.
- Intermediate/Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong work ethic, critical thinking ability, and commitment to continuous learning & development.
- Collaborative team player, with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Strong ability to multitask and adapt to change quickly.
- Excellent organization and time management skills which are critical to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Desire to understand the WHY to understand business processes.
