The Role
The Associate Account Management role requires a highly motivated self starter, a team player with brokerage industry experience. The Associate Account Manager is responsible for supporting the overall relationship along with the associated portfolio finance, brokerage and custody activities of hedge fund clients. Serving as a conduit between the hedge fund and Fidelity, the Associate Account Manager acts as an extension of our clients' team by delivering portfolio finance solutions, brokerage support, world class service and value-added products.Additionally, the Associate Account Manager will develop and maintain professional working relationships with various business groups within Fidelity and be exposed to risk and technology projects/reviews. While working in a brokerage environment, the associate will develop an understanding of trading/reporting systems, regulatory requirements, risk awareness, compliance rules, internal and external institutional entities and financial markets.
- Analyzing client holdings, finding opportunities and driving the sales and client education process from end to end
- Providing tremendous client service and support to Fidelity Prime Services clients
- Building and maintaining relationships with participating clients, intermediaries and internal business partners
- Developing a broad understanding of the regulatory rules governing our business
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong time management, prioritization skills
- 1 to 2 years financial services experience; Customer sales or service experience preferred
- Experience with prime brokerage, securities lending, sales or operations preferred
- Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Series 7 & 63 will be required
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to proactively identify, analyze and solve problems
- An ambitious nature with an entrepreneurial disposition
- Attention to detail in high pressure situations
- Ability to liaise with multiple departments (legal, regulatory, trading, operations, etc.) to create solutions for our customers
- A strong understanding of basic accounting principles, brokerage accounting, and securities settlement and custody
The Team
This associate will be an integral part of our customer facing Prime Services team. The Prime Service business has experienced tremendous growth over the last several years. Our team services high touch and highly active hedge fund clients. We focus on promoting our offering through securities lending, treasury, margin financing and operational support to our hedge fund clients.
