About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Financial Analyst to manage and optimize our B2B deal pricing and deal review process. You will provide key analyses to evaluate deals, while managing the review process by acting as the key contact point between Sales and Senior Management. You will provide negotiation support to Sales. You will identify, analyze, and implement opportunities for improving our review process as well as our price models. There is ample opportunity for making a significant revenue impact.
Responsibilities
Adapting and evolving deal review process for evolving go to market strategies (e.g. Elsevier 360, Elsevier Edge & Elsevier Essentials)
Managing B2B deal review process, by acting as the key contact point between Sales, Finance and Operations. Identifying opportunities for making review process more efficient and effective.
Developing and implementing easy-to-use analytical tools
Supporting development of customer product/value propositions with a quantitative underpinning of the value of our products, making this an integral part of sales materials, working with the product development, content, marketing and sales organizations
Driving implementation and monitoring progress of projects and deliverables; managing stakeholders across organization
Creating benchmarks for go to market approaches (custom packages, HESI Packages & Program Solutions) for data driven deal evaluation.
Providing oversight to the deal review process to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Requirements
Have experience in financial analysis, developing profit and loss statements, pricing sensitivity, gross margin analysis, etc. in both in B2B and in B2B2C markets
Combine highly structured conceptual thinking, deep analytics skills including experience building pricing models, an appetite for detail, and the ability to consider and integrate multiple problems at once. Have deep knowledge of MS Excel
Be experienced in reporting and analyzing data at the highest quality level. Demonstrate the ability to solve issues with incomplete, uncertain or inaccurate data, leading to reliable insights and recommendations
Possess strong business sense and commercial mind set
Be an effective and persuasive communicator (verbal and written) with an ability to clearly summarize data, context and implications
Be a highly effective influencer, relationship builder and stakeholder manager
Have 4-6 years’ experience at a Fortune 500 firm or similar
Possess a Bachelor’s or higher degree in Finance or Accounting
Have a genuine interest in the education industry
