POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Senior Director will provide overall clinical leadership for the Health Plan Division. This leader is accountable for driving client value related to health plan clients’ medical and pharmacy spend and trend, comprehensively. The position is charged with creating, executing, and maintaining Clinical Account Executive (CAE) client engagement strategies that empower CAEs to work in a highly consultative member-prescriber-client-focused approach. This approach leverages benefit management that optimizes patient and payer outcomes through current and new innovative solutions. In doing so, they will lead clinical strategy and collaborate with key partners in Sales, Enablement, Product, and Account Management teams to guide Clinical Vertical and Health Plan division strategy. This includes representing the division and client needs across segments such as clinical operations, clinical product, and supply chain.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead all clinical strategy for the division and collaborate with critical partners to oversee the advancement and total clinical success for health plan clients.
- Oversee perpetual Clinical Account Executive optimization.
- Lead, develop, and coach Clinical Directors to achieve top clinical performance across the clients and clinicians they support.
- Support Health Plan Division’s books of business to achieve elevated levels of client satisfaction, retention, clinical innovation, and performance.
- Lead the way in identifying and solving for critical issues. This includes leading task forces with cross-functional partners with focus and strong execution.
- Provide quantitative data reflecting the scope and impact of the job – such as budget managed, sales/revenues, profit, clients served, adjusted scripts, etc.
- Create, execute, and maintain a scalable infrastructure that provides a consistent, repeatable, client experience and improved outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy; Doctor of Pharmacy and advanced degrees or pharmacy residency preferred Current U.S. Pharmacist License
- 9 - 11 years general pharmacy experience (4+ managed care and sales), 12+ years relevant work experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Must have proven leadership skills, team-orientation, and a strategic management style, strong commitment to client service and business division goals.
- Ability to develop/mentor people; Demonstrated successful and resolution-focused interaction with Sales, Account Management, Pharma Trade Relations, and Product Management team.
- Strong presentation and sales skills Demonstrated experienced handling multiple tasks and ability to prioritize; proven ability to function under stressful situations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical, trend and formulary management programs at level of client, member, and PBM industry.
- Ability to travel; typically, this role travels once a month for around 2-3 nights.
This is a Hybrid position (3 days per week in-office + 2 days work at home). The incumbent candidate can be based out of any US Cigna Healthcare office and is not restricted to locations that are listed in this posting.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation and long term incentive plan.
