The Role
We have an immediate opportunity for a Climate Action Business Development Manager who will thrive in our “one-firm firm” culture. You will be involved in strategic planning, client relationship management, and business strategy development, allowing you to make significant contributions to our firm’s success.
The focus of this position is on Thornton Tomasetti’s Climate Action, which aims to address the threat of climate change, through two broad avenues. The first is decarbonization, i.e. reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to limit the extent of climate change. The second is resilience, a suite of adaptation and mitigation strategies for everything from individual facilities to entire communities.
You will engage directly with clients, including owners, developers, and operators interested in developing an optimized decarbonization and resilience action plan for their assets and/or facilities. You will also work collaboratively with colleagues across our different practices and geographies.

Responsibilities
- Conduct basic market research, identify dominant trends, and strategic pursuits.
- Develop and execute a strategy for client outreach, engagement and relationship management ensuring their awareness of TT’s capabilities and service offering supporting their decarbonization and resilience goals.
- Manage and/or support the development of competitive proposals for private and government clients.
- Actively manage the client relationships and projects executed by TT for these clients. This will include identifying and engaging with key TT personnel across our practices and geographies.
- Assume a level of responsibility for growth of revenue associated with the suite of TT Climate Action services.
Requirements
- Passion for sustainability, decarbonization, resilience, and reduction of the impact of climate change
- Experience Level: 7+ years of working experience in the AEC (architectural, engineering, and construction) and/or other industries.
- Experience developing and managing client relationships and complex projects.
- A degree in architecture, engineering, business management or other related fields.
Compensation
The rate for this position generally is $120,000 - $200,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee’s pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
