The Role
You will work closely with our marketing and graphics professionals, in coordination with our technical leaders, to convert verbal and written descriptions of engineering ideas into compelling and clear graphical representation of those concepts and processes. Initially, you will design and produce static images and may later expand to include interactive and motion graphics. As a firm-wide expert, and as time permits, you may develop advanced graphics for purposes beyond those of the marketing team.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to brainstorm and strategize an approach to illustrations (graphs, charts, infographics) that “say it better and in less space” than words.
Meet business objectives and tight deadlines while upholding visual and verbal brand standards.
Work with the marketing team to ensure designs meet organizational standards, accurately express ideas and appropriately represent the firm.
Foster effective and collaborative working relationships with our senior technical team and Communications, Marketing and Business Development teams.
Update and maintain various databases.
Monitor work by clients and competitors to ensure our continued leadership in graphical innovation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree +5 years of graphic design experience, preferably within a professional services, publishing, or technical or scientific setting. AEC experience a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, juggling multiple assignments with strong time management and prioritization skills.
Initiative-driven and thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
Flexible, curious, conscientious, and committed to going the extra mile with a positive, can-do attitude.
Maintain an interest in the industry through continued learning and subject matter expertise.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different styles.
Proficiency in the Microsoft and Adobe design suites; familiarity with OpenAsset and Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
Compensation
The rate for this position generally is $100,000 - $140,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee’s pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
