WHAT YOU’LL DO
Viant is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Sales Engineer to join our team to act in a technical client-facing role across Viant’s Data Platform and Measurement solutions. As a Sales Engineer, you will be a technical pre-sales resource for the field sales team when selling to our most strategic clients. In this dynamic role, you will be on the front lines applying your technical knowledge and industry expertise to consult with customers about their challenges and how Viant’s data products and capabilities can effectively meet their business goals.

The ideal candidate will be solutions-oriented, have a strong understanding of the advertising technology landscape, and excellent communication and collaboration skills. They will be responsible for understanding client requirements, conducting product demos, and providing technical solutions that align with their business objectives. This role will require deep knowledge of Viant’s Data Platform and Advanced Reporting, coupled with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner, which will be instrumental in driving successful customer outcomes.
THE DAY TO DAY
- Act as the primary technical resource during the pre-sales and sales process, collaborating closely with the sales team to understand client needs and objectives
- Conduct product demos and presentations to showcase the features, capabilities, and benefits of Viant’s solutions
- Understand client technical requirements and scope solutions that align our products/services to meet their needs
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to bring new business solutions to market: Product, Product Marketing, Operations, Sales, and Legal
- Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Provide training and support to sales team members to enhance their product knowledge and sales effectiveness
- Stay updated with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to contribute to the company's product roadmap and sales strategy
GREAT TO HAVE
- Strong client-facing skills with 4+ years of relevant experience in an Ad Tech role
- Strong knowledge of programmatic, measurement/analytics, identity solutions, or other leading data solutions.
- 2+ years experience with Ad Tech platforms such as demand-side platforms (DSPs), data management platforms (DMPs), Customer Data Platform (CDP), and/or clean rooms technology
- Proficient in conducting product demos and effectively presenting technical solutions to diverse senior stakeholders (both technical and non-technical)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to understand and address customer requirements
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Ability to travel occasionally for client meetings, conferences, and industry events
- Bachelors Degree required
