Job summary
The Business Development Representative has primary responsibility for customer satisfaction, customer retention, developing and adding internal growth within existing customer base, and contract renewals.
Duties and essential job functions
- Conduct and perform fifteen (15) prescheduled customer account reviews/goodwill visits per week and 2 route ridealongs per week
- Maintain customer contract renewal status at or better than a 10% exposure rate. Exposure rate is defined as customer contracted weekly revenue business with contract expiration dates less than 18 months
- Prepare and present proposals to existing customers for new business/growth opportunities (new service item offerings, new departments, new or additional locations, proper billing methods, etc)
- Pricing management, maintaining an annualized price increase of net 3% (gross price increases implemented less any necessary price decrease adjustments)
- Follow up on customer leads from route service representatives
- Have a thorough knowledge of CITY's products and services and how they are used
- Provide prompt, effective solutions to customer needs.

- Represent the company in a positive manner and dress and act professionally at all times
- Must maintain a neat, professional appearance and this position requires regular and reliable attendance
- Positive communication with customers, potential customers and co-workers
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis
Minimum requirements
A Bachelor of Arts degree preferred.
2+ years job related and/or sales related experience preferred.
