Essential Functions:
- Sales Growth/Strategy:Accountability to hunt for sales to achieve budgeted volume and margin through the design, selling and execution of a business plan to achieve goals, utilizing competitive intelligence, understanding of market drivers, customer needs and working collaboratively. Identify emerging trends and provide analysis and solutions around category and supply chain management. Manage bid requests and brokers.
- Develop Strong Relationships with External & Internal Contacts: Develop and maintain relationships with retail customer leaders, directors and managers. Build strong relationships with both current and new customers and acquire a solid understanding of their needs and objectives. Meet with current customers and strive for deeper penetration with these accounts. Partner with internal associates and teams across the business to support and execute sales. Developing key relationships across key customer at the Director, VP, and ownership level.
- Analyze and Assess Protein Category in Assigned Accounts: Look at competitors within our categories and at business outside our categories that affect sales using consumer and trade marketing information. Create Plans and Programs to Meet Customer Demands: Understand retail cost drivers and pain points, and develop solutions that will create value for the customer and solidify the partnership between the Customer and J&B. Assist in the development of costing standards to manage processes and profitability. Conduct Quarterly Business/Category Reviews with Key Decision Makers at the Account: Review quarterly sales results and recommend changes that will be mutually beneficial. Preview upcoming quarters and develop strategies that will grow sales and create efficiencies thru the supply chain. Negotiate Distribution Overages with Customer at Profitable Levels: Communicate.
- Prospecting/Securing New Accounts: Research company information, makes initial contact with key contact, and schedules appointments to introduce JB.
