In this role, you will lead and implement strategy to accelerate Scripps Health's strategic growth priorities. Primary responsibilities will include:
- Direct development and implementation of strategic initiatives to grow the organization through acquisitions, divestitures, partnerships, and similar opportunities.
- Identify and evaluate growth opportunities, business model innovation and facilitate cross-business unit initiatives.
- Lead all aspects in pursuing such opportunities that involve potential acquisition, divestiture, partnership or joint venture.
- Play an integral role in establishing budgets and organizational structure to manager and oversee such opportunities.
- Be responsible for monitoring business trend outlooks and gathering competitive intelligence to contribute to strategic business planning discussions with leadership.
- Articulate and showcase the value of Scripps Health to potential partners and communicate partnership value to the Scripps executive team and Board committee.
- Oversee and coordinate cross functional teams in execution of new business activities that support both organic and inorganic growth and development through a variety of strategies including geographic expansion, collaborations and integrations.
- Collaborate with executive and operational leadership and develop and oversee a high performing team implementing growth plans with specific linkage to strategy, legal, human resources and financial functions.
This Corporate Vice President position reports to the Corporate Execute Vice President and Chief Growth Officer and is located at Scripps Health Administrative corporate office in La Jolla. Qualifications Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: • Bachelors degree in related field and a MPA, MPH, MBA or JD or comparable required.
• Ten years of leadership with concentration in corporate and business development, strategic implementation, and business planning including experience in all aspects of acquisitions, divestitures and collaborative transactions.
• A track record of success in leading large, complex initiatives and transactions such as development of new lines of business collaborations and joint ventures.
• Background in corporate development or business development within healthcare delivery at an integrated delivery network, hospital system, law firm, investment bank, consulting or advisory firm, or comparable entity.
• Excellent skills in strategic and quantitative analysis, problem solving, along with excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills to build trust, negotiate transactions and work with a broad group of executives.
Preferred Qualifications: • Knowledge of basic Lean concepts and methods highly preferred.
• Previous experience leading corporate development in healthcare.
