Job DescriptionThe purpose of the role is to strategically drive portfolio decisions and other Business Development initiatives to support the in-license, co-marketing, or acquisition efforts of Piramal Critical Care. Efforts will be primarily focused on the US market but will also include some products and acquisition targets for Europe, UK, & ROW. Key responsibilities include identifying and evaluating new product opportunities in the hospital pharmaceutical market, identification & assessment of new partners capable of meeting PCC's technical, quality, and timeline requirements, development of financial models, and presenting opportunities and making recommendations to senior management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Identifies and evaluates new product opportunities through networking, public records, data mining and other sources
- In coordination with executive leadership, develops business plans and financial justifications for proposed new product acquisitions, in-licensing and co-marketing opportunities
- Provides data-driven market analysis based on market dynamics and trends and provides insight to the teams to help make accurate decisions
- Provides insights and assistance to M&A as needed for assessment of company and other large-scale acquisitions
- Leads the execution of strategic initiatives to advance PCC's mission for licensing and strategic alliances across the US hospital pharmaceutical market
- In coordination with the sales team and supply chain, develops launch volume plans to assist in influencing partners to ensure timely procurement of FDF & other materials
- Assists in providing FY budget financial guidance for the following year and 4-5-year financial guidance from the portfolio and pipeline
- Manages existing relationships and serves as the point of escalation for issues that arise to ensure that key alliances flourish
QualificationsEducation / Experience - Master of Business Administration or graduate degree in life sciences preferred
- 8+ plus years of experience; ideally a combination of technical/pharma and business roles
- Intuitive with numbers, ability to parse through large complex market data and provide meaningful, crisp, and actionable insights for current business and for evaluating potential new product opportunities
- Deep knowledge of the US generic injectable market and be familiar with the trends and competition in this space to be able to put opportunities in context
- Some exposure to non-US generic pharmaceutical markets would be beneficial
- Ability to negotiate terms in favor of PCC, with external partners and build relationships to enable more meaningful future opportunities
- Comfortable working autonomously and in a complex, global organization across multiple geographies and exercising leadership through personal performance and influence across the entire organization
