SUMMARYResponsible for managing the day-to-day sales and technical support activities with assigned customer. This position is responsible for supporting sales with the technical integration of Pfeiffer Vacuum products at target accounts. There will also be the responsibility to take a key role in discovering and developing new opportunities/relationships at the assigned account. This position is based in San Jose, CA.

Establishes a network and schedule of sales and support calls to customer locations. Meets with key engineers and decision makers at customer locations. Prepare quotes and closes on sales by obtaining proper customer approval, price, terms, and delivery schedules. Provide regular updates of activity and prospects to management.
Provide ongoing high level technical support across all product lines to assigned account(s). Work closely with sales, product management, market management and business development to promote Pfeiffer Vacuum products to existing and new/potential contacts at assigned account(s). Provide regular updates of activity and prospects to sales management, market management, R&D, sales and business development.

Duties
- Manage business relationship with key engineers as well as developing new opportunities at assigned accounts. Works closely with management, engineering, factory marketing and materials professionals throughout both the customers' and our organization.
- Establishes a network of contacts within in the customers engineering department and schedule regular visits to customers lab locations for direct technical discussions.
- Identifies business opportunities and key decision makers at the customer(s); prepares and makes sales presentations; participates in technical meetings utilizing internal resources and manages joint technical projects.
- Reviews customer requirements and presents company products that will fill those needs. Works closely and in partnership with our factories and product development to communicate customer(s)' needs and requirements.
- Responds to situations where standard procedures have failed to isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
- May develop unique solutions for standard applications using approved procedures.
- Coordinates new product introductions. Arranges for product demonstrations, training events and other activities that promote understanding of company products to customers.
- Submits status reports regarding current projects and new opportunities as defined by management.
- Use CRM and Outlook as tools to manage activities, opportunities and pipeline.
- Submit sales reports regularly as defined by management.
- Attend all trainings and meetings as required.

General Qualifications
Strong organizational and creative problem solving skills as well as good planning and technical equipment troubleshooting skills required. In depth knowledge of company products is highly desired.
Education and/or Experience
Requires B.S./B.A. degree, preferably in Engineering; M.S preferred, and a minimum of 5 years of experience within the Semiconductor industry. In-depth knowledge of vacuum technology and Semiconductor OEM processes and equipment is essential.
Language Skills
The ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing is essential. Reports, email correspondence, schedules, and performance reviews are all typical requirements of this position and must be effectively and professionally communicated. This position serves as a key liaison between the customer and the company and must articulate critical needs, issues, situations, and plans to keep customer satisfaction high.
Mathematical Skills
Superior math skills required. The individual should be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, statistics, and margins, etc. and able to analyze results in order to make recommendations to management. Strong knowledge of the mathematics that supports the industry is essential in order to provide technical assistance and expertise as required.
Reasoning Ability
Must be able to multi-task and operate in a fast paced environment while maintaining a disciplined approach to oversee major customers' needs. The ability to understand the customers' requirements and plan the support strategy is essential. Must be able to solve both practical and complex problems and deal with a variety of factors in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Both a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record are required at the time of hire and periodically thereafter.
TOOLS AND/OR EQUIPMENTThis position uses a computer extensively with demonstrated abilities in the use of Microsoft products as well as other types of software and office equipment. This position requires travel up to 50% of the time. This position includes the possibility of international travel, so a valid passport is required.
